Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS) is easiest defined with xset
Installation
$ pacman -S xorg-xset
Usage
# Note that xset values can be defined in xinitrc or in other scripts use.
# To query your current settings
$ xset q
# To see all available commands
$ xset

| xset s off | Disable screen blanking |

| xset s off -dpms | Disable DPMS and prevent blanking |

| xset dpms force suspend | Standby screen |
